Slow Down Challenge Day 2 – Savor

September 3, 2013

The challenge for day 2 asked, “What do you need to savor more? Although highly task-oriented, I am usually fairly skillful at being in the moment, possibly because my life has been characterized by an acute awareness of the uncertainty of the next day. Nonetheless, over the course of the Labour Day weekend, the challenge to savor the moments was a good reminder and I took the opportunity to savor the following activities:

  • Spend time with family friends on Sunday afternoon as our children played together and we all “caught up” on each other’s lives.
  • Wheeling around the block with my oldest daughter on the back and holding my other daughter on one lap and my niece on the other.
  • Watching a tv show with my wife or lying in bed with her and talking over the day’s happenings.
