Five Ways to be a “Team Player”

May 6, 2015

Tryan walterhe following article comes from Ryan Walter’s leadership newsletter:

Here are a few observations that I collected about great team players during my 17 season tenure as an NHL player and coach:
1- Team Players have learned to get along with the many different personalities in the room.
2- Team Players have learned to not take themselves too seriously; they enjoy the banter. They learn how to fit in.
3- Team Players have learned to build teammates, not destroy them, verbally.
They supply energy to their team and not suck energy from their team.
4- Team Players choose to “have their teammates backs,” even during times of uncertainty.
5- Team Players have learned to hold themselves
accountable first, and then their teammates to a high standard of play.
