Book Review – Unstoppable Gospel by Gregg Matte

January 22, 2016

Unstoppable GospelThis book is amazingly simple. There are no new truths explained or expounded. There are not really any new ideas or strategies. Matte methodically reviews the early church as it is planted, begins to grow, struggles, and thrives. With thoughtful and interesting writing, he clearly shows through the book of Acts how the Gospel was unstoppable because people operated under the direction of thee Holy Spirit. It is so simple and yet so profound.

Matte shares how he personally applied these principles as pastor at Houston First Baptist church and how, as in the early church, God has led and blessed. Again, it is shockingly ordinary and yet profoundly challenging. The book is easy-to-read and logical, filled with appropriate stories (and humour), uncontroversial, and deeply practical.

I would recommend any Christian read it, and especially pastors and/or a church leadership team. If you want to see the power of the Gospel unleashed in your community/city, re-visit the basics with this book and then watch God work.
